The web-based biology course is a brand new course that appears in recent years, whose theoretical study is almost at the beginning stage in China. Although it is remarkably developed in last few years, there still exists a large gap in the development of the web-based course between China and western countries, such as USA, due to the limitation of our hardware and theoretical knowledge. In our study, we investigate the web-based biology course in high school in order to optimize our web-based education.This article is divided into three parts. In part I, we introduce the basic concept and characteristic of web-based course, the structure of web-based course assistance system, the web-based education of our country and foreigner countries, together with the constructivism, which is the theoretical base of the web-based course. In part II, we performe the datas, which we get in our investigation through experimentation, questionnaire and chat in three high schools of shanghai. The analysis of these datas is included in Part III, where we also conclude the main problem in our web-based course and give some suggestions to optimize the web-based course in China.Seized a great lot of literature, writer spend more than two months on teaching practice in yan'an high school , acquired some sensibility cognition about web-based biology course ,and realized that currently all kinds of members'attitude about web-based biology course in high school of shanghai. Otherwise, We make two questionnaires to investigate teachers and students of three high school which have the web-based biology course (yan'an high school, NO.2 secondary school attached to east china normal university , shanghai NO.3 girls school), and acquire 515 valid questionnaires which analyse those datas using SPSS software.After investigate in high school of shanghai and analyse the datas which get from three sample high school ,We found that: school handlers ,teachers and students have deficient recognition on web-based biology course ;both teachers and students don't adapt this change form tradition to web-based biology course; lack of assistant Support System which adapt to biology subject's characteristic ; lack of normative estimate system on web-based biology course, and so on . In this condition, we made some suggestions, such as change people'seducation intention; increase devotion on web-based biology course; strengthen bring up teachers; develop excellent assistant Support System and estimate system, we hope that the combination which between web-based course and biology in high school will puse the education innovation, especially the secondary curriculum innovation of shanghai.
