On Developing Higher Vocational Education With Full-Employment As Orientation

In recent years, the rapidly developing higher vocational education, as the important part of the higher education of our country, has made great contribution to the historic leap of China's popular education. At the same time, the problem of underemployment for the graduates from the higher vocational & technical colleges is becoming serious with each passing day. And the problem of underemployment is greatly hindering the development of higher vocational education.With Xianning Vocational & Technical College in the central part of China as an example, this article, on the base of many times of investigation, analyses the main causes of the underemployment and puts forward the proposals to solve the problem. The proposals are that we must adopt the advanced idea with full-employment as the orientation of higher vocational education, improve the quality of education continually, create a new educational system, open up new channels for the graduates to take up occupations, and strengthen the ideological education and the guide of taking up occupations in order to make the higher vocational education to develop on the right way.
