Set about from the development of the theory of humanism in China and the West, this article illuminated the connotation of humanism in Marxism. It believes: the materialism in history of Marxism set out from people, human's development is the criterion of social development, the fundamentality of human is human itself. The meanings of humanism is that human is the center, everything is for people, everything depends on people. Among these, the most fundamental is that everything is for people, because human is the purpose, every activity is eventually to meet the material and cultural needs of humans, and to promote the comprehensive development of human. Set about from the connotation of college students general constitution cultivation, this article discussed the function of humanism in college students general constitution cultivation, and demostrated its importance of humanism in college students general constitution cultivation.Based on the analyses of college students general constitution and the current situation of college education, this article pointed out that problems existed in college students general constitution cultivation mainly embodied at: much attention to infusing of knowledge and less attention to moral cultivation, much more attention to teaching than to cultivation, ignorance of the difference of student personality, and defect of the cultivation of innovative mind and practical ability.
