Education is a cause for the future and the future is an unknown world. What will happen in the future actually belongs to unprecedented creation for a person, an organization , a country and even the whole world . Therefore, the basic purpose of education is to develop the latent creation of people and to prepare the innovative people for the future . The teenagers in our country lack creative consciousness. Affected by the fixed thoughts , most teenagers are much too cautious and believe in authority and it becomes worse as they're growing up year by year .So it is our responsibility to develop the creativity of the young people and to change our heavy burden — a large population into the sources of labors, even the mainstream of the innovation. The essay initially discusses the influence of inquiry teaching on the formation of innovative individual character of the students . There are four parts in the thesis.Part 1: The concept defining. In this part, the author expounds the essence of the inquiry teaching, the theoretical bases (psychology, pedagogy), innovative ability, the essence of the innovative individual character and the characteristics of the inquiry teaching. Part 2: Theory probing. In this part, the author briefly analysises the factors in preventing the formation of innovative individual character. In theory , the author expounds the function that the inquiry teaching works with the formation of the innovative individual character from the point of teaching characteristics.Part 3: Experimental research. It is the thesis' body. The author increases the use of the inquiry teaching in the experimental class. At last, it is proved that the inquiry teaching can promote the formation of the innovative individual character of the students by the data survey between two groups of the students and the statistical treatment of all kinds of data.Part 4: The discussion. In this part, the author rationally reviews the course of the whole experiment, considers the success and failure of the experiment and think about how to train the innovative individual character of the students in inquiry teaching and other fields.
