With social and economic development, the demand for more talented labor hasbeen on the increase. This has provided a golden opportunity for the development ofhigher education. The trend of enrolment, as exemplified by the rapid growth inuniversity enrolment in China, has been the result of the popularization and thearistocracy of higher education since the Confucius times. At the same time, highereducation is faced with a new challenge of quality of the student recruitment sources anddeficit of educational resources.In order to adapt to needs of the society and to provide more talented labor, highereducation must pay more attention to all aspects of university construction anddevelopment of curricular. The management of teaching in higher institutions forms thecore of education management science. It is the process through which to realize thegoals of teaching by effective planning, organizing, leading, encouraging and controllingthe teaching resources owned by the university on the basis of certain principles,procedures and method. The teaching management constitutes an important part ofmanagement which embodies academic management and administrative management. Itplays a basic role in the university operation system and is the hinge of the teachingsystem movement which is a critical factor of the education quality.From theoretical and practical perspective of teaching management in China, it canbe noted that there are some problems, the most being the lack "humanity". This paperchose "The study of Humanity Problems in Teaching Management of Undergraduate inHigher Institutions"as a study topic. This thesis is divided into four parts.Part one: Definition of teaching management humanity.First, this part defines and explores the center point of management by regarding toteachers and students as independent individuals, pay attention on their characters,respect the personalities and develop their intelligence. This method refers to "man"notonly as the object but also the subject of management. The subject of teachingmanagement is man and the center, the purpose is also man. Which means the man doesthe management and the management is for the man. So we should pay enough attentionon the needs and status of man while at the same time amplifying the function of man inteaching management.Part two: Explores the necessity and significance of humanity in university teachingmanagement.Teaching management in higher institutions constitutes an important humanmanagement activity and it has the same characteristicts as the general socialmanagement but has its own special laws as well. Humanity management thoughtdepends on both theory and law: Firstly it accepts the subjective guidance of the generalprinciple of philosophy. Secondly, special laws and rules of teaching management playare critical in decision. The activity of the teachers and students is one of the teachingmanagement characters. In order to realize the goals of humane management there isneed for democratic management approach in higher education and university levels aswell as a need to train high caliber students.Part three: Analysis of the current status of teaching management universityundergragruate in China.From the students'perspective, the problem is the inadequate academic freedom.While from management point view, the problem lies with the trend administrativemanagement. The main problems experienced in teaching management in higherinstitutions of learning include: experimentation methods lacking proper scientifictheory guide, adoption of foreign management methods not suited to local conditionsand circumstances instead of blending them to suit local needs.In the university teaching management, we should put more emphasis on formaloperation and pay attention to relevant regulations and limit erratic behavior inmanagement which may lead to lose of center of control.In the establishment of teaching plan, the problem lies with the excessive roleplayed by the administration which often to production of similar plan for differentdepartment, thus hampering tailored management approach to individuals needs. As forthe behavior of teachers and students, the problem lies mainly in the rigidity ofeducation system which emphasizes old methods and regulations which are not sensitiveto the current circumstances and human needs in modern management thoughts.This paper also discusses the main reasons for the lack of humanity. The oldmanagement system is the peripheral reason, while the rigidity and use of old teachingthought is the core reason. Insufficient teaching resources is the material which. Thesethree reasons explain the lack of human development in teaching management.Part four: In the last part of this paper an in-depth discussion on the reform inhumanity management of university teaching is given.
