The main purpose of this thesis is to discuss the strategies by which students can work together effectively in Web-Based Cooperative Learning (WBCL). By analyzing characteristic of Computer Supported Cooperative Learning (CSCL), referring collaborative strategies used in classroom learning and introducing the theories of organization behavior and knowledge management, the author brings forward the hypotheses, based on which students can cooperate efficaciously in WBCL, and validates the hypothesizes with experiments, with the hope to provide some guidance for people to actualize cooperative learning. Chapter one gives a retrospect about the history and actuality of cooperative learning both in china and abroad, indicates the purpose and significance of the thesis and puts forward the hypotheses. Chapter two illustrates some concepts related to cooperative learning and main basic theories. "Collaborative Learning"and "Cooperative Learning", which were used without differentiating from each other, are stated in this chapter. Social skills of students are emphasized in collaborative learning under classroom environment, while the reciprocal means in WBCL has changed. The concept of "Cooperative Skills"is proposed to define communication skills required in WBCL. The introduction of the theories of organization behavior and knowledge management into education provides teachers some new light and guidance in aspect of organizing students in cooperative learning effectively. The aim that in organization behavior is to attain by setting up the learning organization is the same as that is emphasized in cooperative learning by sharing and exchanging information between members and cultivating their collaborative consciousness.
