Integrative curriculum or integrative study has become a focus again in current education reform. There have been a lot of theories on integrative curriculum, including Naturalism's concept of curriculum integration, J.F.Herbart school's doctrine of apperception, Progressivism's student doctrine of integration, Reformism's cone curriculum, Humanism's fusion curriculum and Postmodernism's view of curriculum emerging in the later half of the twentieth century. All of the theories elaborated the concept of integrative curriculum in different aspects, providing plenty of proof and experience for our teaching practice.Based on teaching experience in other countries, China is unfolding its reform on integrative curriculum. The reform has sped up especially in senior high schools with the adoption of "3+X" college entrance examinations.Yunnan Province has also done some experiments to cultivate students' comprehensive skills. But in the course of exploration, we have encountered many problems and difficulties. In a survey on the application of integrative curriculum in Yunnan's senior high schools, we have found that a large part of the teachers interviewed have no idea about this curriculum. Some teachers just oppose the practice. And even among those who support the idea, most think it is difficult to carry it out.However, as the requirements of the society for talent has changed greatly, it has become imminent to provide corresponding comprehensive training to students.Therefore, teachers should first have a better understanding of the necessity of integrative study. And they should learn from others' experience. Taking into consideration of specific situations in their schools, they will be able to develop their own teaching mode. Only in this way, can their teaching meet the demand of the society.
