For thousands of years, our nation has introduced multifarious ways and means to appoint and distinguish person with ability, which contributes to China's development enormously. However, with the development of modern science and technology, especially with the wide application of psychometrics and computer technique, the limitation of traditional ways appears. It can not meet the requirement of modern identification of intellectual.this thesis is developed along the "past-present-future" sequence, through the detailed explanation of Chinese ancient genres, system and methods of personnel assessment, taking apart the advantage and disadvantage of traditional personnel assessment deeply, pointing out a series of problems of Chinese modern personnel assessment, and putting forward some ideas and suggestions for resolving these problems, in order to arouse the recognition of the personnel assessment in the society, applying the technique in the region of personnel resource management, and setting up the scientific personnel assessment system with its own characteristics in accordance with the situation of China.
