Making students as the centers of the teaching, encouraging them to express their inner opinions, emphasizing to develop their unique characters are the common trends of the world wide education reforms. Knowing the inner world of the students, being near to the daily life and developing the students unique characters are the request of teaching composition. The common existing problems of the primary or middle school composition writing are related to the lacking of the student's unique character. The process of writing a composition is the process of forming characters and is the process of creating one's individual. Characteristic composition are the composition has original view points, real and moving facts and unique views of value and judgments. Teaching composition writing characteristically means that teachers using characteristically teaching methods to encourage the students to express themselves and perfect their individual character and finally enhancing the overall teaching purpose. The direction of reforms in primary and middle school composition teaching should be aims of bringing up the students'unique characters soundly, stimulating their creativities and taking the free characters as the final goal. Bringing the unique characters to the composition writing require the society to create a cultural environment and an accessing system which pay more attention to the respecting of individualism. And it strongly require to adjust their characteristics and the teacher may let the students show their personalities. In this case, as a teacher in teaching Chinese, he or she should be more open in heart, and in the teaching process of composition, he or she should not be afraid of the authority. Only in this way, will the conscious of the students be aroused, and it will stimulate the individualized pursuit of the students, finally form a good personality. The individualism in the teaching of composition is the necessary request of the course revolution. This paper pay more attention to the related theories, objects and means of the individualism in the teaching of composition in the primary and middle school, based on the results and the reasonable analyses of experts in composition teaching, as well as based on my and my colleagues'experiences in composition teaching. By looking back upon the history of Chinese recent years'composition teaching, and researching related concepts of individualism in composition teaching, as well as discussing the principles of the teaching in composition, we can provide principles for the individualized composition teaching. At the mean time, we can propose some objectives and methods of the individualized composition teaching, and show some controllable models which can be copied in the flied of it. Compared with the weaknesses of the traditional methods for composition teaching, individualized composition teaching, there is no doubts, is a powerful good model. Under the individualized teaching theory, it can make us strongly realize the future of our composition teaching, and it can let the educator adopt effective teaching methods which is useful in developing the students'full personalities, according to different environment, teaching condition and teaching objects. However, due to the differences between the individualizedteaching methods and the educational model, in the process of carrying out the method, we will notice that how to let it into the teacher's subconscious, and how to let it become a request and pursuit of students contains a little bit of difficulty. Thus, this method may not be well received by the recent school educational system which pays more attention to the examination. But we should not deny it's far-sightedness and meanings in exceeding the recent educational system. Due to the existing value, it needs to be discussed on all sides, and we should work together and discover more about this new method.
