In the 21~st century, people have to learn all their lives. Education has developed from the traditional and closed school education into a kind of open, multiple-functional and lifelong activities. Basic education has changed from knowledge memorization into a new stage of learning how to learn, learning how to exit, learning how to behave and learning how to live in concert, with a bias towards blazing new trail. Modern education is obligated to cultivated persons adjusting themselves to the modern social development who are not only capable of being engaged in different work but also have the comprehensive quality of cooperating with other, enduring setbacks and fitting in with the rapid social change. China has the largest population in the world and high quality education can transform natural persons into social person, so Chinese education should China' s powerful human resources to shorten the wealth gap between China and the developed countries in the west. But if our education is not reformed and if people are in low culture and in poor quality, the large population will be a big burden handicapping the economic development and social progress entry of China into WTO, its economic reform has developed fast, whether Chinese go abroad or foreigners come to China, high quality persons are badly needed. Our education must adjust itself to this demand and cultivate all kinds of qualified persons in time. To go in for high quality and high level education, we should transform those students poor in results and in conduct to stop them from entering society with their low culture and low quality for fear that they will become burdens to society and even factors harming the society.Because of the role of maths in scientific technology and in the cultivation of persons' quality, maths is very important in education. Countries of the world all pay most attention to maths in education. However, in China, maths education is mainly oriented for examination, not for cultivating students' thinking ability though much time is spent on maths in the basic educational stage, regardless of the student' ability of bringing forth new ideas in maths learning, hence maths became a dull subject to some students and naturally they became poor in it.
