The current situation about neglecting the cultivation of students' critical thinking in Chinese teaching puts forward the idea that it is necessary and urgent for us to take emphasis on the cultivation of critical thinking. According to the new requirements to foster talents for social development in 21 century, this thesis starts from the demand of quality-oriented education. On the basis of combining the early research achievements at home and abroad, this theses tries to cultivate the students' critical thinking in Chinese teaching, approaching it from the discussion of the possibility and practicality of training critical thinking in Chinese language and literature teaching.This thesis consists of five parts:Part One gives the importance of the understanding of the topic. It expounds mainly from three different aspects, namely the close examination of the present situation in Chinese education, the training of the students' creativity and the comprehension of the nature of the Chinese teaching.Part Two describes the connotation of the critical thinking and concrete content for us to cultivate students' critical thinking. From the aspects of educational psychology and discipline pedagogy, it defines the critical thinking and makes the tentative induction and deduction of the critical thinking's characters. On the basis of distinguishing the relationship between the critical thinking and other thinking, this part also gives the concrete contents of training students' critical thinking.Part Three is devoted to probing the principals and means of training students' critical thinking in teaching.Part Four demonstrates the thinking of countermeasure to cultivate the critical thinking. This part is the focal point of this thesis. It demonstrates mainly in a practical way, that is to say, it probes the cultivation of the students' capabilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing in Chinese teaching.
