Bilingual education has a long history. In western countries, it began from the late half of the last century. It started in America, Canada and some other countries and had a great success. Bilingual education in those countries has formed a mature system of itself based on its basic theory. It is regarded by the worldwide foreign language teaching society as a successful foreign language teaching policy.In our country, bilingual teaching has come into practice in recent years. Aiming at our low efficiency of a foreign language teaching for a long time, some educators started the experiment of the bilingual teaching, that is, non-language subjects are taught in English in order to improve the students' ability of using English. It is quite meaningful to search for and discover the rules of the bilingual teaching and to form a bilingual teaching model and subject system with the characteristics of China. It is also quite meaningful to improve our basic education with high quality and high level. Therefore, I set up my study on this subject. I aim at summing up the experience and lesson of our school bilingual teaching through the subject study of Nan Mo bilingual teaching. I would like to provide a reference case for our bilingual teaching research work. I would like to give my contribution to building a road of bilingual teaching in accordance with the present situation of our country and to setting up a system of theory which is suitable for our country and a practical model.This article is a case of Nan Mo bilingual teaching research.It has four chapters: Chapter One expresses the purpose and way of this research; Chapter Two introduces a few basic conceptions and models related to bilingual teaching; Chapter Three shows the process of Nan Mo bilingual teaching (the basic plans, volunteer subject, and organization guarantee of bilingual teaching on the school level; the starting work of setting up curriculums, teaching materials and qualified teachers; and the introduction of my experience and thoughts in my bilingual teaching practice); Chapter Four concludes the experiment of the bilingual teaching in our school, indicating the students' achievement on this English study and teachers' growth through bilingual teaching in our school. Meanwhile, here are some work points in supplying qualified teachers and useful teaching materials in bilingual teaching and some relevant measures must be taken immediately.So far, the bilingual teaching is still in an experimental period. Our country hasn't conclude a complete system of its theory in the bilingual teaching. We have achieved some progress since we started the experiment of bilingual teaching. At the same time, some new problems appeared. Many schools are trying their best to practice bilingual teaching. They are doing so according to their own situation. They conclude their experience and lessons through practice. It is the beginning of bilingual teaching in our country. It has a long way to go from now on.
