Discipline innovation is ubiquitous phenomenon in universities, which is the outcome of high educational development in our country and of the carryout of the educational innovation.In the paper, the new system about theories and methods of discipline innovation was constructed, on the basis of the overall understanding of the theories and current research situation about discipline construction and innovation, related to the experiences and results of discipline innovation.The main contents and opinions is as followed:Firstly, from the intension, characteristic and principles of discipline innovation, the basic theories of discipline innovation were researched. Through the research, the achievements is as followed:1. In the paper, discipline innovation was defined, its meaning was explained and the theme of discipline innovation was put forward through compares with educational innovation.2. The four characteristics, level, comprehensive, systematicness, and practicality, are put forward which is the creativity in the paper.3. Put forward and systematically analysis three basic principles that disciplines innovate already follow the scientific development view, the rule of development of discipline, and the scientific and technological rule of development. Of heart scientific development view, is it insist on people first, make discipline accomplish overall, coordinates, sustainable development to want just.
