[Objective]To investigate the psychological health status of students studying in technical schools, and probe into the influences of the coping style, personality characteristics, social support and life events on their psychosomatic health levels. [Methods]The students in Grade 1 of technical school were evaluated with symptom checklist-90 (SCL-90), trait coping style questionnaire (TCSQ), social support rating scale (SSRS), adolescent self-rating life events check list (ASLEC) and Eysenck personality questionnaire (EPQ).symptom checklist-90 (SCL-90), evaluating the psychosomatic reactions, includes 9 factors: F1 (somatization), F2 (obsessive symptom), F3 (interpersonal sensitivity), F4 (depression), F5 (anxiety), F6 (hostility), F7 (phobic anxiety), F8 (paranoia) and F9 (psychoticism);trait coping style questionnaire (TCSQ), evaluating the coping strategy, includes 2 factors: positive coping style and negative coping style;social support rating scale (SSRS) includes 4 factors: the total score of social support, subjective, objective and utilization;adolescent self-rating life events check list (ASLEC), evaluating the mental stress ,includes 7 factors: the total score of life events, interpersonal relationship, study stress, punished, lose, health accommodate and rest. Eysenck personality questionnaire (EPQ) includes 4 factors: N (neuroticism), P (psychoticism), E (intro-extraversion) and L (lie).Totally 235 valid questionnaires (123 from males and 112 from females) were collected, and then the results were input to the SPSS software for multivariate correlation, u test and multiple stepwise regression analysis. [Results]This paper showed the average of each questionnaire factors, they are the total score of Scl-90: 145.51±41.87,the total score of ASLEC: 42.54±10.57, positive coping: 27.88±6.82, negative coping: 23.28±6.59, the total score of SSRS: 32.83±5.63, subjective: 18.46±3.84, objective: 7.12±2.18, utilization: 7.24±1.85, EPQ-N: 44.92±10.69, EPQ-P: 51.79±8.42, EPQ-E: 51.26±10.21, EPQ-L: 48.25±8.68, for male, and the total score of Scl-90: 139.25±30.30,the total score of ASLEC: 38.78±8.30,positive coping: 29.33±6.65,negative coping: 24.31±6.49,thetotal score of SSRS: 33.44±6.03, subjective: 18.69±4.02, objective: 7.00±1.90, utilization: 7.76±2.27, EPQ-N: 43.97±10.72, EPQ-P: 51.03+10.44, EPQ-E: 54.24±9.01,EPQ-L: 52.32±8.41,for female.Except the factors of F3 (interpersonal sensitivity) and F4 (depression), the scores of other 7 factors for psychosomatic reactions of students studying in technical schools were all higher than those of norms (P<0.01), and the psychosomatic reactions were greatly correlated with adolescent life events and N (neuroticism) (P<0.01);Except F5 (anxiety) and F7 (phobic anxiety), other psychosomatic reactions factors were positively correlated with P (psychoticism) (P<0.05 or P<0.01);The total score of SCL-90 and the factors of Fl (somatization), F5 (anxiety), F7 (phobic anxiety) and F9 (psychoticism) had positive correlations with the score of objective social support (P<0.05 or P<0.01);The total score of SCL-90 and the factors of F6 (hostility), F7 (phobic anxiety) and F9 (psychoticism) were positively correlated with positive coping style (P<0.05 or P<0.01);Psychosomatic reactions had significant positive correlations with negative coping style (P<0.01);Except F7 (phobic anxiety), other factors were significantly and negatively correlated with L (lie);F4 (depression) was negatively correlated with the total score of social support, subjective and utilization (P<0.05 or P<0.01). [Conclusion]Students studying in technical schools have certain psychological problems, their coping style, their psychosomatic reactions are comprehensively effected by personality characteristics, social support, coping style and life events, it is indicates that comprehensive psychological guidance and quality education are necessary and feasible to ameliorate the psychological health status of students studying in technical schools.
