This is a comparation, between the chinese high school course of chemistry and that of CIE (University of Cambridge international examination ) A level(Advanced level), on the syllabuses of experiment, experiment text books, patterns of teaching experiment and the assessments on the capability of doing experiment.A conclusion can be drawn that, the both two course define the capability of doing experiment roundly. But,the CIE A level course makes much more emphasis on the student' s practice and the development of science method and science spirit. What' s more, the assessment system of the CIE course requires taking the probing teaching pattern , consequently, makes it possible to realize all its aims. Differently, chinese students are required , through the assessment method, to practice as they have been taught. It is implied in the result of the investment that, the chinese teaching pattern is effectively on developing the skills of operating and calculating.
