The technology of computer multimedia has become an important means for presenting information in modern classroom. It has adsornade the represectation forms richer than ever before.What kind of courseware is needed in classroom? How to impleaent the inquiring teaching? And how to make use of computer multimedia to assist the inquiring teaching in seconding mathematics leasons? This thesis, based on the theories of education and educational psychology, attempts to argues the advantages of CAI in inquiring teaching of seconding mathematics, and point out some misapplications of CAI in teaching, so asto find out the optimum of CAI's application in teaching middle school mathematics.This thesis is divided into four parts. Part 1 focuses on the concept and application of CAI, and the theoretical issues of inquiring teaching. Part 2 discusses the advantages and disadvantages of CAI and exploratory teaching. Part 3, discuses the strategies to use CAI in inquiring teaching in seconding mathematics using two cases. The last part draws a blue print of CAI in mathematics teaching.
