The connotation and market-orientation of agricultural vocational education and its effects on the sustainable development of agreiculture were reviewed and the present situation of agricultural vocational education in Taizhou cirty were analyzed in this paper based on analyzing of development of vocational education mainly for rural correspondence university, Central agricultural broadcasting-television school and agricultural vocational school in China from last 90's to the beginning of this century. Meanwhile, the problems such as difficult to find job for graduate students, lower quality of the teachers, unsuitable teaching model, unreseasonable the management system, too much majors in one school and so on were pointed out and the countermeasures of improving and strengthening agricultural vocational education were put forwarded. Followings were the suggesting countermeasures: the government should change the functions and improve the systems of supporting development of agricultural vocational education;the government should strengthen the programming of agricultural vocational education and planning and integration of resources reasonablly, well-ordering of market, diversiting the ways of obtaining employment, increasing investment of the agricultural education occupation, enhancing management skill of the agriculture vocational school, establishing high agricultural vocational education system.Morever, the necessity and feasibility of building the system of high agricultural vocational education were also analyzed in this paper. It were very important in reforming agricultural vocational education comprehensively and deeply that renewing concepts and ideas of school management, facing to farmers to promote quality education, facing to the world and conjecting with overseas. It were pointed out that the learnings from vocational education of the developed countries such as clear education objectives, suitale curriculum system, putting stress on training of actual operation, extensive mutual communication activities and encouraging the agricultural teachers to master a plenty of ability and so on should be in accordance with the Taizhou's agricultural vocational education facts. The paper also put forward that Taizhou city should take its advantages to develop his agricultural vocational education, pay more attention on the vocational features of the secondary and high agricultural vocational education based on the vocational training level, make more clear for the education and training objectives, make the teaching plan and decide content of courses to meet the requirements of knowledge education skills training, realize the study of professional theories in the skill-training, pay more attention to the result evaluation and so on.
