With the rapid development of the information technology, using information technology in teaching has been the hot topic on instructional innovation. The information technology, such as computer, multimedia and internet, has provided advanced tools in teaching and learning, and aroused the interest and initiative of the student. The Training Objective of secondary vocational education is the technician and worker with innovation and practice ability for 21st century. In last decades, influenced by the middle school, vocational education is focus on the fundamental knowledge, ignores the application ability and professional ability. The crucial problem of the instructional innovation in vocational school is how to use information technology to enhance student's ability of application and professional. This paper studies on chemistry teaching in vocational school using information technology. According to the characteristic of vocational education, this paper analyses the limitation of traditional teaching mode, and discusses the feasibility of using information technology in chemistry teaching. Based on the constructivism instruction theory, we propose two teaching modes:"Information processing- Cooperation communication"and"Activity and Investigation-Simulate practice", and expound the concept, principle, applicable situation and the relation of the two teaching modes. In the end, we analyses the effect of the tow teaching modes to the teaching and point out the problem for further research. For the analysis the effect of the new method to teaching, we choose two classes, adopt the new method and traditional teaching mode respectively for a year. Result shows the score adopting the new teaching mode is evidently higher, and student's application and professional ability has been obviously improved.
