With the reform developing, especially with the tendency of the worldwide economicunity approaching, people who have the abilities of communicating successfully in foreignenvironment are thought much of. In order to foster such persons, universities and collegesare trying their best to do well in bilingual instruction. However, bilingual education comesfrom foreign countries whose theories in this field are mature, so our country's bilingualinstruction almost uses theories of foreign countries for reference. Then, for our country'sbilingual instruction in universities and colleges of special background, how to work outoperable methods with practical meaning has become an exigent task in the face of suchproblems as teachers' misunderstanding of bilingual education, the lack of languageenvironment, the singleness of teaching methods and so on.Nowadays, information technology has become more and more popular, and applyingit in education which includes the application of IT in bilingual instruction is not a freshtopic. And it is a long-term and hard task to exert the function of IT in bilingual instructionmore successfully.This paper bases itself upon the practical circumstances of the bilingual instruction inuniversities and colleges in our country and analyses some problems existing currently.What's more, it discusses some details to improve the effect of bilingual instruction throughIT support. First, it respectively expatiate the advantages of IT in bilingual instruction andthe problems that need to be solved. Then, it brings forward some specific operablestrategies from three aspects that include specialty-based, curriculum-based andclassroom-based.
