The importance of fostering students' healthy character in high school has come to a protruding position along with the further education as well as the full performance of quality-oriented education. This research essay intends to do some research on development of students' healthy character from the field of ethnics, pedagogic, psychology and sociology. Based on the survey of students from Wuwei No. 2 High School as well as the analysis of students' mind and performance, teaching method, family teaching style, merit of world conception and so on, it is pointed out that the development of students' healthy character is influenced not only by some interior factors such as the sense of self realization, emotion and will, but it is also closely related to some outer factors such as school teaching goal, teaching method, family teaching style, social environment and so on. Both the primary character of high school students and development principle of mind decide it quite necessary to carry out fostering students' character in teaching practice. In this research paper, some teaching strategies towards development of character in teaching practice are suggested: teaching idea of humanity-oriented should be encouraged; establish an environment full of equality between students and teachers, in which teachers' noble character and love towards every student are encouraged; optimize culture environment; practise fostering character throughout class teaching and work of head teacher. As to the last point, some teaching cases are listed and fully explained. And some brief discussion on family education and social environment as well as the method and operation of fostering students' healthy character are also fully illustrated.
