The beginning of the 21st century has been called the Information Age because of the explosion of information output and information sources. It has become increasingly clear that students cannot learn everything they need to know in their field of study in a few years of education. Information equips them with the critical skills necessary to become independent lifelong learners. With the application of information technology, it has been a must for education today to cultivate students' information literacy. But there are still some problems existing in our information literacy education, such as understanding, theoretical research, curricula, etc.By analyzing the present situation of information literacy education at home and abroad, based on the study of the definition, feature and content of information literacy, this essay incorporates the actual situation of Guangming High School and aims to develop information literacy of the students by three ways with the support of information technology:1. Design various modules of curricula, such as introduction to information literacy;2. Change the function of the library, from a mainly document related information provider to an environment creator where both the teaching and learning process take place;3. Transform simple "teaching" to "interactive teaching and learning" through case study on the student's subject.
