For a very long time in the past, education in China adopted the ways of standardization, synchronization, wholesale to evaluate every school student. The reform of evaluation is imperative under the situation because this traditional waysof evaluation isn't adaptive with the development of quality-oriented education.With our reform deepening, "Plan for New Courses for Primary and Middle Schools and Action program for Education Reform of Various Disciplines Geared to the 21~st Century" was published by the Shanghai Teaching Material reform Committee for Primary and Middle School Curricula in 1998. In order to meet the demand of this advancement of educational reform, the system of evaluating must be reformed as well. Therefore, Shanghai Basic Educational Committee compiled "the Recording Booklet for Students' Growing up" and tried it out at every primary and middle school in Shanghai in September, 2004.L Middle School, which is run by the local people, isn't the base of the curriculum reform. But this school is thinking much of the direction of curricula reform by arranging the whole teaching staff to learn the new standard of curriculum. What's more, they put in practice boldly in the management of curricula, the courses are divided into national, local and school courses. The aim of this school is "to satisfy the full needs of every student and let every student make greater progress than before" . With this cultivating goal, great changes have happened in the evaluating method as well as teaching method.With the help of "the recording booklet" , they combined the reality of the school with reform of the curricula and began to research how recording booklet influences evaluation of students. The author of this thesis investigated and analyzed the implement of "the recording booklet" including its actuality, problem and basic theory of evaluating. More importantly, the author tabled a proposal for school research on evaluating practice. After having fulfilled the author has lodged betterments in three aspects: 1. The booklet should be improved on itsstructure and contents, its modification in Maths and also should be added the confirmation of students' strong suit. 2. It should be fractionized when it is used. For example, we should solve such problems as : how to evaluate the Chinese reading ability for expanding reading, how to make students self-evaluate and evaluate each other in the subject of Computer science, how to set up "File of study process" and how to step into students' soul by giving remarks by class teachers. 3. The training plan for teachers, students and students' parents must be carried out. In the end, the author summarized the first effect in this research in L Middle School and brings forward the suggestions to make it better.
