With the deepgoing educational reform in middle school, ability training and intelligence development have been a major task being studied in teaching. People are attaching importance to the study of the ability of history learning in middle school. In the recent 25 years, we have achieved a lot in this field in our country, many experts and scholars have published a great deal of books, some famous history teaching journals of our country have published a lot of articles about the ability study of history subject, which studied the issue of the ability of history subject from different aspects and levels. These articles guided middle school history teaching practice very well, but problems still remains. This article is mainly about the characteristics and influent factors in the study of the ability of the history subject and some suggestions and countermeasures in the later study. The study is based on the facts of history teaching in middle school, comprehensively using the methods of research into documents and theories, investigation and study on the base of statistic and analysis of the current situation of the study of this ability in the recent 25 years.This article consists of three parts:The first part: Analysis of the current situation in the study of the ability of the history subject in middle school. First, some datas about the study are offered in this section, including study article data statistics in some main journals and ability research content statistics in relative books. Second, there are some concrete content analysised and total feature analysises about the current ability study situation and characteristics in the study.The second part: Analysis of the factors which influence the study of the ability of the history subject in middle school. There are many factors influencing the study,but this section mainly discusses them from the following aspects: the development of the times, the development of the aim of history education, the reform of the assessment of history learning in middle school, the influence of the foreign educational ideas and achievements in research.The third part: Suggestions and countermeasures of the study of the ability of thehistory subject in middle school. This section states the weaknesses of the present study in this field, mainly including the conception of history subject ability is confused, the standard of history subject ability is disagreed, the aiming system of history subject ability is unestablished.Then offers some suggestions and countermeasures of strengthening the study of theories and experiments in the study of the history subject, aiming at these weaknesses.
