A Study On The Dai Jitao's Educational Thought

Dai Jitao is the renowned political theoretician and educationalist innear contemporary history of China. He has left behind the deep trail in theChinese near contemporary history. As a well-known educationalist of theKuomintang , he worked hard for the China's education day and night, heproposed a lot of progressive education thought in all his life, which affectedand educated many people and promoted the development of China'seducation at that time. In this paper the author tries to analyze Dai Jitao'seducation thought so as to deepen the understanding of Dai Jitao's educationthought and make clear the goal, the meaning as well as the historical statusof his thought.This paper is divided into three parts. Firstly, outlining the timebackground, the family background and experience which the thoughtproduced. Next, elaborating in detail the main content of Dai Jitao'seducation thought. Thirdly, analyzing the characteristic of Dai Jitao'seducation thought. And carrying on the whole, objectively and reasonableappraisal to his education thought.Firstly, the overtop structure is determined by economic basis. DaiJitao's education thought took a part of the overtop structure, So it wasdetermined by the nature of China's semi-colonial and semi-feudal society'snature. Therefore his education thought changed with the social developmentof China and was deeply marked by history .Dai Jitao was born in a periodwhen china faced grave nation disaster and foreign aggression, the men ofinsight all seeking the path to the redemption of the nation . Dai Jitao wasdeeply affected by the nationalism ideological trend. In addition, he wasinfluenced by family traditional Confucianism, he joined in Chinarevolutionizes and the education, has offered own life for the Chinaeducation.Next, the content of Dai Jitao's educational though was extremely huge,concrete, and systematic. It contained the youth educational thought, theoverseas Chinese educational thought, the female educational thought aswell as the compulsory educational thought and so on. It was concrete andprofound, it reflected the subject and the request, and conformed to thesocial development rule at that time.1 . The youth educational thought, in view of youth morals perishing, hecarried on the severe criticism and requested the youth to foster thecharacteristic of solid, assiduous and patient. So as to achieve educationalpromotion and national prosperity which all was extremely essential at thattime. Meanwhile, in the youth's cultural education, he took the vocationaleducation and the health education seriously so as to solve the youth jobproblem and realizes the Sino-Japanese War on country's goal.
