To develop the education, teachers are the keys. An increasing level of teacher professionalism will ensure the development of education. Taking theoretical and practical approaches, a lot of scholars have studied better ways to advance the teacher professionalism and their studies are fruitful. However, most the current studies focus on the improvement of teachers' knowledge structure and skills and their abilities to reflect; very few discussed the relationship between the culture of teaching community and professional development of teachers. Based upon publications, after reviewing and comparing several methods to advance the professional development of teachers, this paper analyzed and explained that current methods for the professional development of teachers have their advantages and disadvantages. On the other side, as a new way to develop the teacher professionalism, the culture of teaching should be noticed and studied.This paper analyzed the influence on the professional development of teachers by the culture of teaching. The influence lies in two categories: guidance and regularization. On one side, the culture of teaching makes the value and action of an individual teacher consistent with those of the teacher community; On the other side, the culture of teaching is a hidden constraint force, regularizing the teacher community. Furthermore, based on the Canadian teacher, sociologist, Andy Hargreaves' research on culture of teaching, this paper discussed several types of relationships between the culture of teaching and profession of teaching. From analysis, this paper discovered that individualism and factionalism of the culture of teachers which undermines the development of the profession of teaching. On the contrary, cooperative culture of teaching characterized by it openness, harmony and creativity, creates an open, secure and free environment of the teachers. First, in this environment new teachers can get helps from other teachers and specialists more easily. This kind of help is essential to the professional development of new teachers; Second, the harmonic and secure psychological environment created by the cooperative culture provides what is necessary for the development of creativities of individuals and it also helps to develop...
