In The Syllabus of Chinese for Senior High School, the part related to teaching writing has changed a lot compared with the former Syllabus in such aspects as the possible direction in which the writing topics are going, the assignment of writing topics and the grading criteria for the writing task in the college entrance examination. Therefore, there is an urgent need to probe into the balanced combination of examination and teaching. From the theories for demand, this essay presents three combination models between the cultivation of students' examination performance, writing skills and quality. This essay also analyses the features of combining taking examinations and teaching, whose core is the cultivation of students' ability in the demonstration of their individuality. This essay deals with the features from four aspects: the combination of being a writer and being a person, the cultivation of writing consciousness, the guidance in writing from teachers and the show of individuality and standardization of writing. The demonstration of their individuality in writing is very well embodied in the assignment of writing topics, the types of writing topics and the grading criteria for writing in college entrance examination.
