The prose reading teaching has alaways been the most important part in high school Chinese teaching ,Though the teacher and students they all take great effort to improve it,the result seems undisatisfactory beasuce of analysis .This kind of teaching method which divideds many beactiful and well-written prose into different paragraphs and parts,leads to not only the ineffectively in the teaching ,but also the barrier to developing students' reading ability, focus on the whole essay,on one hand ,in particular teaching ,many teachers think the only purpose of reading teaching is to analyse it thoroughly again and again instead of grasping the meaning of the whole essay following the steps as "entirety-part-entirey",Therefore ,student' ability of thinking thoroughly cannot be easily improved. One the other ,in terms of the reading comprehensive in the Chinese examination in the entrance exams to university ,prose has been chosen as the exam question since 1998.the author discusses the necessity and feasibility of the prose reading teaching focuss on the whole passage and also show the process of making it successfully.According to some Chinese teaching theorise,the author not only gives as the basic pattern of prose reading teaching "entirety—part—entirey",dicusses the whole process of the teaching ,but also dose the relative experiments .it is believed in this teaching pattern ,students'reading ability as well as ther mores in the exam wills Surely be improved.
