The Outside Reading Situation Of Senior Students And Study To The Way Deal With The Situation

Chinese education contains four great pillars, which are listening, speaking , reading and writing. Reading is most important of all. Reading is input, while whiting is output. Reading is not only the lease of writing ,but also it can impulse listening and speaking. It shows that reading is of great importance and significance in Chinese education. Therefore, when people learn Chinese, they must pay attention to reading, especially outside reading . Because the forming and using of reading skill is not limited by time and space, it should include class reading and outside reading. However, we have never paid attention to outside reading in senior Chinese teaching, which is a fault, out of question, Luckily for us, new senior Chinese teaching syllabus issued by the Department of Education in 2000 emphasized the demands for outside r(?)ading and formulated the total number of outside reading for senior middle school students, attaching recommending titles of books for outside reading. However, facing the increasing pressure of entering a higher school, we can't break through the potential net for examination-oriented education. So it is hard to achieve the goal of outside reading in the teaching syllabus.The need of society is what the learners study. This essay, based on the analysis and investigation to the outside reading situation of senior students, puts forward some measures to deal with the situation, and inquires into the problem from extensive outside reading. It points out we should strength "campus reading" and " reading society". It also puts forth a series approaches to ensure the effect of outside reading. We should make a plan for outside reading, give the students some instructions to set up a situation for reading communication, pay attention to the training for non-intellectual factor and so on. In the end, the essay summarizes that it is urgent and necessary to increase the teacher's reading quality in outside reading.The rise and fall of a nation is close connected with education, civilization and prosperity lies in reading. All the educators should burden this sacred duty.
