Study On Inconsistent Development In Higher Education And Economy In Shaanxi Province

The higher education, which performs a more important role in society and economy, has developed greatly in China since the foundation of PRC, especially the opening reform periods. Owing to, however, history and other factors, the higher education among the areas differs seriously, furthermore, in the same, the higher education doesn't balance with the regional economy. Therefore, it is the task of the higher education study to make the higher education in harmony with the regional economy and promote the development of the higher education in our country. The paper takes Shaanxi Province for an example, discovering the non-direct correlativity between the regional higher education and the regional economy on the basis of analyzing the relevant data, then, it surveys the factors influencing the inconsistent development of the both. Finally, the paper discusses the social functions performed by the regional higher education in the province, and points out the tendency of the development of the regional higher education and the reasonable views about the development of economy.This paper consists of six parts:The first thing, it mainly introduces the concepts about region and regional education, the higher education and the economic development as well as the relevant relationships.Secondly, it introduces the economic situation, and chooses several economic figures in the province, such as the average GDP, the proportion of the three industry structures in GDP and of the number of employees in each industry, to explain the development of economy in the province, which proves that the economic situation in Shaanxi Province is not good.Thirdly, it introduces the condition of the higher education, and also chooses some figures, such as the number of undergraduates, recruit students, graduates and the ratio between students and teachers in the universities and colleges in Shaanxi Province in each year since 1978, to interpret the developing level of the higher education in the province, which proves that the higher education is much better than the economy in the...
