Research On The Needs For Continuing Education For Senior High School English Teachers

Life-long learning has become an inexorable trend of modern society development. Continuing education for teachers is the necessity of the development of the times as well as the development of the teachers themselves. Without the development of teachers, students' development is impossible. But now the status quo of continuing education for senior high school English teachers is worrying. Since the teacher training institutions lack a clear understanding of teachers' real needs, there exist contradictions between supply and demand in continuing education for teachers so that teachers' real needs cannot be satisfied. This research puts forward some practical suggestions of curriculum development and implementation for continuing education for senior high school English teachers based on the investigation and study of the needs for further education for senior high school English teachers from parts of Henan Province.The thesis falls into six parts:The introduction deals with the cause of the research, the definition of some concepts, the scheme of the research and the organization of the thesis.Chapter I is a general introduction of the development of continuing education for foreign language teachers. The thesis begins with the analysis of the status quo of teacher education in foreign countries, then analyzes the current situation of continuing education for foreign language teachers at home and abroad and points out the purpose of the research.Chapter II is the scheme and the implementation of the research.
