The Sixteenth National Congress has greatly and definitely put forward the establishment of learning communities, and of the model by which teacher wants to become the all-time and lifelong learners. With the"the New Standards of English Courses"carrying out ,the English teaching reformation of junior middle school has penetrate deeply. The new teaching standards and new textbooks , which requires the English teachers who has the new teaching opinions, new teaching methods and the skills of listening speaking writing and communicating, which are the new challenges for all English teachers in junior middle schools, especially the English teachers who work in the rural junior middle school .The new situation puts forward new requirements for the all English teachers who must form the ideas of lifelong learning .the best way for the English teachers to achieve the lifelong learning is to attend the continuing education. Hence, it is necessary to learn about the continuing education conditions of the English teachers who work in the junior middle school in rural area.The paper investigates the status of continuing education of four rural junior middle schools in the D district. The paper analyzes the existing problems and further puts forwards the suggestions and ideas to improve the quality of English teachers'continuing education in rural junior middle schools according to the investigations.The paper divides into four parts:In the part of preface, the paper describes the study's backgrounds, meaning and has defined the concepts related to the continuing education and makes a thorough summarize of the present situation and trend of the continuing education of the English teacher in junior middle school.In the second part, the paper describes the reasons of choosing the paper, the study's methods and the study's steps.In the third part, the paper introduces the background of all the English teachers who work in the four rural junior middle schools, and describes the status quo of the continuing education of all English teachers, and analyzes the reasons further.In the fourth part: the paper puts forward some related suggestions and ideas to improve the quality of the rural junior English teacher's continuing education...
