The physical education ideology is the understanding or attitudes toward PE in schools, which is formed directly or indirectly through the practical activities in a certain society or period. It covers various aspects, centering on the school PE's nature, direction, objective and aiming at how to put them into practice. It is displayed by the directing concepts in policies, by the concepts in individuals or communities and by the studies on the physical education problems existing in schools.Since the Constitution of Zou Ding Xue Tang requested that gymnastic course should be offered to all schools in 1903, physical education has passed more ten one hundred years in our country. Today we emphasize quality education and further promote the fundamental education revolution which is guided by the concept of Health First, so it is significant to think back how the physical education ideologies in our country have developed during this century, to summarize what they implies for us and to explore where they will proceed.The present research conducted a series of studies, such as literature review, logical analysis, interview and so on. Through the retrospection of the ideologies of physical education in modern times of our country, the process of its development is analyzed in detail and the factors which influence the ideologies are concluded. Through the historical antecedents, some implications for the present physical education revolution are also put forward.
