Autonomous Learning In The Classroom

Nowadays autonomous learning is becoming more and more important in learning, especially for the students in senior high schools. But the students at present have been used to the teacher-centered teaching model; therefore, it is not easy to make them shift to the student-centered teaching model without any trouble. The author of the thesis thinks it necessary to establish an autonomous learning in classroom teaching. Based on the humanistic psychology and the personal construct psychology, the thesis explores the autonomous learning of English. It also analyses the practical reasons why this learning mode is promoted. In addition, it illustrates how the learning mode will bring about the change of the roles of the teachers and the students. Finally the thesis puts forward some examples of autonomous learning in the classroom.
