Learning is the basic means for human to live and develop, exactly speaking, learning brings society wealth and prosperity, and individual adaptability, existence and creation, which is a common sense in the world. In the current time of knowledge economy and information explosion, "Learn how to learn, learn on one's own" which is the education slogan for the current time is very important and instant. Self-monitor is an effective way to learn how to learn and learn on one's own. It is also means to change the passive way of learning, a trend of teaching reformation. This article discusses self-monitor during math learning, to suggest the key to up-grade during math learning.Based on data gained from interview over four senior students, making use of qualitive research mathod, in terms of two kinds of self-monitor during math learning: self-monitor during learning and self-monitor when solve problems, the article discusses the structure of self-monitor which consists of three aspects and eight dimensions: pre-learning(planning, preparation), learning(sense, method, implementing),and pro-learning(feedback, making-up and conclusion). The article mainly discusses the learning process of the investigated students, how they monitor themselves during math learning, and how self-monitor influences their math learning effect. It is concluded after careful analysis of the data and suitable application of relevant theory: relatively self-monitor is more important after math learning. Self-monitor after math learning is vital to learning effect and quality, however, self-monitor on sense dimension during learning is lower. Self-monitor on planning, preparation , sense and feedback dimension is vital to learning effect and quality, Students' self-monitor is lower on feedback and conclusion dimension after solving a problem, which demonstrates the passive way of learning. In order to change students' learning attitude, training them the ability to learn, the article suggests to enhance self-monitor on sense and conclusion dimension in the midst of knowledge teaching; train students self-monitor in the process of problem solving teaching; enhance self-monitor on conclusion dimension after solve a problem. The final part of the article discusses research degree, ethics morals, research process and points open to further discussion.
