At present, a new teaching and learning mode is being paid more attention in the world. That is the Inquiry Learning. It is a kind of teaching and learning mode under the guidance and help of a teacher, students have a chance to ascertain a problem task to obtain the theory knowledge and practical skills, to cultivate scientific attitude, master the scientific methods, improve the ability of integrated exercises of the knowledge and to solve practical problems ultimately.The article systematically set forth the situation of the Inquiry Learning development and theory basis (constructionism and multi- intelligence theory), the definition of Inquiry Learning, its characteristic, the implement method and evaluation. In allusion to the need of secondary vocational education development reform, the thesis put up the theory analysis on how to carry out the inquiry learning. On the basis of the characteristic of running secondary vocational schools, it expatiated the necessity and possibility of carrying out the inquiry learning. Moreover, the inquiry project was designed on the content of chemistry courses of the major, Light Product Analysis, in a secondary vocational school, putting forward the new teaching and learning mode and its methods of"Curricula integrated practical training under inquiry learning".The thesis summarized the teaching and learning mode on inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, analysis chemistry and instrument analysis in a secondary vocational school for two years. It explained the process, case display, effect analysis, and demonstrated the necessity of possibility of carrying out the inquiry learning in secondary vocational schools. It offeredthe theory basis and practical mode case on the implement in secondary vocational schools. It laid a foundation on spreading this reform to more schools.Finally, reflection and expectation were mentioned according to the two years of inquiry learning theory study and research. Expectation was put forward for further reform in secondary vocational schools.
