The works of LuXun play a very important part in the teaching of Chinese in middle schools. Since the founding of the PRC, the works of LuXun have been included in the Chinese textbooks in middle schools as classic works and the number has once reached about forty. At present time sixteen works are included which are prior to all the other writers'. Therefore it is a fact that the teaching of the works of LuXun is a major part in the teaching of modern Chinese works. The middle school students have been perceiving, learning and understanding LuXun by means of his works and the compilers' explanation. The image of LuXun has been created on the basis of the understanding of the textbooks and reference materials in the minds of several generations. As the outstanding representative of the Chinese modern literature and a great thinker, he included the profound thoughts, various artistic styles and abundant education resources in his works which benefit the middle school students' cultivation and enhancing of the literature accomplishment and inspire them to ponder over human life and society. As a result, the teaching of LuXun's works is important and difficult. In this article the comparisons and contrasts of the teaching of LuXun's works are put forward with regard to the selection of his works, the teaching contents and teaching methods. Furthermore the achievements and the troubles are summarized and pointed out. Further analyses are taken out in the present condition of the teaching of LuXun's works and suggestion of reforms are raised in terms of three aspects of teachers, texts and students in the hope that students can really understand the spiritual essence of LuXun's works and LuXun's works can be given full play to in literature and thoughts.
