With the development of educational project, teachers' professional development becomes an important research problem.Economic construction needs a lot of skillful talents. It depends on vocational and technical education to train these kinds of talents. However, teachers are the key to the development of vocational technical education. Due to the change of recruitment policy for secondary vocational education and the fast development of college education, regular high schools are more favored than vocational schools, which brings a new challenge to vocational schools, that is the quality of their new students is lower than ever. However, the source of teachers in vocational school is very much complicated and quality of teaching they delivered can hardly meet the job standard required under the new conditions.From the requirement of developing vocational education, and teachers' professional development, it is necessary to strengthen the teachers' professional qualification.During the course of their professional development, the training provided outside school, those in the workplaces, in higher education institutions and in specialized training organizations, cannot solve the conflict between work and study and the training content is not so relevant to practice, in addition to the lack of sufficient funding for vocational schools to send many their teachers to be trained outside school. But school-based training is for school, in school and by school, which can link the training better with school practice, with their professional development and with their issues in their teaching practice, saving the cost and trouble for being out for training. So school-based training is one of the best ways for teacher professional development in vocational school.Therefore, the theoretic research and practical approach to school-based training and professional development in vocational school is very important, not only in improving the teachers' profession standard and school running quality in vocational schools but also in better training the skilled talents and building the harmonious society.This thesis discusses the importance and necessity of the teachers' professional development through the investigation among students and teachers.
