The thesis sets out from the introduction of the two teaching models—the traditional teaching model and the modern teaching model. The advantages of the modern teaching model are illustrated with comparing and contrasting the two teaching models. Then it briefly introduces the teaching model for the senior high school English Reading teaching in the condition of multimedia-internet. Based on the author's personal experience and the surveys conducted, this paper presents the readers with the importance of multimedia and internet in English-reading teaching by teaching practice and paper enquiry. It also gives the readers the way of how to use the technology of multimedia and internet to arouse the students' interest of studying, to create good circumstances for English learning, and how to practise, strengthen and improve their English reading skills greatly so as to improve the quality in senior English teaching.The paper is divided into three parts:The first part briefly introduces the two teaching models—the traditional teaching model and the modern teaching model. By a contrastive analysis, it points out the advantages of modern teaching model, i. e. multimedia-internet teaching model.The second part analyzes the traditional teaching method and the modern teaching method by teaching practice and paper inquiry, and clarifies the importance of multimedia-internet aided-teaching method in senior- English-reading.The third part expounds the main reasons of weakening the usage of multimedia-internet, the existing problems and the methods of solving the problems. It also points out the disadvantages of multimedia-internet teaching.The conclusion part shows a very positive attitude of the development of multimedia-internet in improving English teaching efficiency. However, attention and care should be given to the disadvantages of inappropriate use of multimedia-internet. Since this is a preliminary research work many improvements are expected from colleagues and experts. It is our wish to better our job and study.
