The idea of applying information technology to English teaching is generated out of the needs of our age and education. It is essential for English teaching to keep pace with the development of information, thus satisfying what society requires of education. Integrating Information technology with teaching Oxford English (Shanghai edition) for senior high school aims to realize the English curriculum objectives and the developmental objectives as well.Quite a few instructional technology experts and scholars have carried out much study on the integration of information technology and curriculum, but their study has a tendency to put emphasis on pure theory and is lacking in the adaptability of various subjects. It is hard to find some actual, practicable and detailed integrated methods and strategies adapted to subject instruction. And there is not enough applied research on the integration of information technology and English curriculum.This dissertation does some specific exploration and research on the strategies for the integration of information technology and English instruction from the theoretical and practical perspective, which is based on the textbook-- Oxford English (Shanghai edition) for senior high school co-published by Shanghai Education Press and Oxford University Press.On the basis of former theories and research, the dissertation further puts forwards new points through on-hands practice, mainly including the connotation and the theoretical foundation of integrating information technology with English curriculum.The practice of the integration of information technology and teaching Oxford English (Shanghai edition) for senior high school is guided by the theoretical research, thus resulting in a better understanding from the sensitive level to the rational level. What's more, the text sums up integrated strategies which are operable and have practical value in the process of practice combined with the theoretical analysis. Besides, the text analyzes the effect of the integrated strategies on such aspects as promoting the effectiveness of teaching, changing the students' learning modes, and developing the students' comprehensive language competence.The full text is divided into nine chapters in all. Chapter one explains the integration of information technology and English curriculum including its concept, content and theoretical foundation and basic understanding.
