We all know that, contingent of teachers with high quality is very important to a school's existence and development. But so far as we know, the whole quality of teaching personnel is not optimistic, wide gap exists compared to some developed countries. Simultaneously timeworn concept of teacher management, backwards structure can't adapt to current of the times. Therefore, it is very important and necessary to reinforce the theoretical research and practical exploration of human resource management in colleges and universities. Have only we widen our train of thought, seek new countermeasures, can improve the whole quality of university teachers practically, realize health development of itself, and cultivate more excellent talents for our nation.It is blazing new trails, to some extent, trying to lead the theory and practice of career management to institutions of higher learning. Over a long time, research of human resource in colleges mainly analyzed university teachers'working characteristics, needs, contents and means of motivation and so on from a stationary angle instead of checking the relationship between teacher's development and university organization from angle of career development. To apply the theory of career management to university teachers makes us understand the different developmental period of teacher's career, and different characteristics in body and mind, needs, different task and obstacle of career development. Practically speaking, the theory of career management is a medium, which link up the theory with practice of teacher management. It will provide an effective model of movements management.This paper tried to discuss the feasibility of carrying out career management in university teachers tentatively by method of combining deduction and summary, theory with practice, from abstract to concrete, theory to practice, in order to get common development of university teachers and university organization, realize the mutual beneficial between them.The train of thought of this paper is: according to the basic theory of career management, combining characteristics of university teachers with present state of management tightly, discussing and analyzing the main problems existed in career management of university teachers at present, then researching into how to make the career management of university teachers better, improving the level of teachers'development and management in colleges and universities.
