Currently, our society with more information, frequentsociability and high efficiency requires people to have a higher commandof oral communication ability. Paying more emphasis on that has becomethe focus of most of main countries in the world in language teaching.Our traditional oral communication teaching emphasizes the skill drillson listening and speaking, however, today, we pay more attention tofostering this communication ability by listening and speaking.The survey to teachers in primary and middle schools shows that dueto the influence by traditional teaching method, most of them are unableto master the particularities of Oral Communication which leads to thediscrepancy in teaching ways. And this becomes the main factor to preventstudents from developing their oral communication. Then, what dose OralCommunication mean? And what are its particularities? Basing on thephilosophy of Full Time Compulsory Education Chinese Course Standard(trial) established by Education Ministry in July 2001, together withother related research results, this article expatiate on those topicsand gives further analysis on not only the ingredients of oralcommunication, oral communication attainment but the difference betweenoral communication teaching and listening & speaking teaching as well.Relying on that, I have put forward the following teaching strategy:A. strengthen students' accumulation in culture and life; B. enforcethe initiative of oral communication; C. build up a good communicationenvironment; D. cultivating students' role-play sense.
