Research On The Management Of Gymnasiums In Universities

Based on a comprehensive research on gymnasiums in universities, with a case study on East China Normal University, this article has analyzed their present conditions and problems with the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) as a performance evaluation and strategic management tool, discussed the construction of a performance management model for gymnasiums in universities, theoretically and practically, and set up an index system for the BSC performance management. This article has three sections:The first section, An Introduction, introduces the theoretical basis and practical significance of this research, briefly discussed the construction, management and development of domestic and overseas gymnasiums.The second section, An Analysis of the Present Conditions of Gymnasiums in Universities, analyzes their advantages and disadvantages, and the countermeasures to these practical problems.The third section, A Research on the Management of Gymnasiums in Universities, firstly, analyzes the application of BSC in university gymnasiums after brief discussion of the basic contents of BSC; then, emphasizes that the success BSC depends on a clear perspective and strategic goal for gymnasiums; thirdly, starting from four respective aspects, finance, serving objects, interior operation, and innovation and development, builds up the BSC performance indicator system and elaborates on the BSC operation process as well as the problems in designing and apply of the BSC in gymnasiums; lastly, with a case study of the gymnasium of East China Normal University, makes a detailed analysis of the present condition and challenges, thus builds up an index system for BSC performance management to ensure its implementation on the basis of gymnasiums' strategic development and theoretical and practical research.
