The latest curriculum reform on the elementary education gives the Chinese teaching a new challenge and opportunity. Based on the importance of reading aloud in the traditional Chinese teaching, the clear requirement of teaching reading aloud in "Curriculum Criteria of Chinese" and the trend of popularizing the common spoken Chinese, this thesis prokes into the theory and the practice on reading aloud in Chinese teaching of Junior High School.Through the careful observation during my teaching practice in Lanzhou No.3 Junior High School, by making the questionnaires and interviews to the teachers and students, this thesis analyses the present problem and its reason on reading aloud in Chinese teaching of Junior High School and provides the profitable experience and inspiration to the Chinese teaching practice on reading of Junior High School.This thesis includes five chapters: In Chapter 1, it expounds and studies the necessity of reading aloud in Chinese teaching and introduces the significance and function of it. In Chapter 2, it gives the new explaination of teaching reading aloud, offers the basis of the theory on teaching reading aloud, the requirement and task in teaching, introduces the types of reading and the characteristic of it and induces the teaching principles in teaching Chinese reading aloud in Junior High School. In Chapter 3, based on the visiting classes and the questionnaire investigations, it analyses the six present states and their reason of teaching Chinese reading aloud in Junior High School. In Chapter 4, it offers the concrete strategy in teaching reading aloud of Junior High School. Chapter 5 is the conclusion and introspection of this thesis.
