Faculties' participation in academic management is a kind of management pattern that the faculty participate the proposal, formulation and vote of academic business and policy to satisfy their reasonable needs and realize the participation of management.Our traditional interior university academic management system disagrees with the logic of the technicality, therefore the foundation of democracy is weak and the right of faculties' participation is limited. It is the start of this thesis. On the basis of the intrinsic characters of the academic organizations, the principia of higher education management and the theory of faculties' self-realization need, by analyzing the relationship between academic management and power configuration, this thesis put forward the opinion that we should establish faculties' main status in academic management, And via the further analysis of the essence, extension and Restriction factor, this thesis educes four conclusions:1. The principal part of participation is related to pertinence and knowledge, which includes four different kinds of modes.2. Limits the academic management scope, including teaching affairs management, sciences research affaires management and other affairs related.3. Defines five kinds of participation degrees, and analyzes the opinion that the participation degree is related to the affairs' kind.4. Analyzed the restriction factors, which are law and system, university president, and the faculties themselves.This thesis still use a questionnaire to know the actuality of faculties' participation in academic management, and find out some problems in it, for instance, the system of academic management institution is distempered, the academic organizations lean to administrative, group thought restrict the process of decision-making, and the ambiguity consciousness of participation, etc. Based on these problems, this thesis analyzes the causes from four aspects which are history, system, power allocation and culture. And then put forwards suggestions aim to the participation mode, principal part and academic management institutions.Given the time, recourses, author's ability, and the limitation of questionnaire, the whole analysis is imperfect inevitably, and the suggestions are still need to validate and consummate.
