Since the 80-90's of 20th Century, a transformation of the curriculum studies paradigm has occurred in the western curriculum study fields on the leading of America. The"curriculum developing paradigm"regards curriculum as the"learning material", it also orients the curriculum studies to be"how to develop curriculum more efficiently", and takes the value-neutral curriculum developing procedure for its principal researching tendency. This kind of researching tendency induces easily the trend of proceduralism. The"curriculum understanding paradigm"has exceeded the procedural character of the curriculum developing paradigm, and emphasizes to treat curriculum as a kind of symbolic representation or text. The"curriculum understanding paradigm"also insists that the aim of curriculum studies is not only to comprehend the value of the curriculum's symbolic representation and text through placing the curriculum in the wide background of the society, politics, economy, science, history, culture and race, but also to understand the meaning of the curriculum by relating it with one's deep-seated spirit world and life experience. Just based on the"curriculum understanding paradigm", the dissertation attempts to do a study on the value and ideology which are contained in China's basic education curriculum.Besides the"preface", the thesis composed of three parts.The preface clarifies the practical and theoretical context of the research under the light of our country's basic education curriculum reforms and the shift of the western curriculum study paradigm, and shows the significance to do such a research on the aspects of academy, praxis and practice. At last, the preface introduces the primary methods and ways to this thesis.Part one, it describes the evolvement process of the meaning of"ideology"from the angle of concept differentiating and analyzing, then gives a definition to the phrase"ideology"for the paper and makes a conclusion to the characters and functions of"ideology". And then, base on the social constructive theory, the paper expatiates the relationship between curriculum and ideology.
