The quality of the basic education and the standard of the national quality depend on the quality of teachers in secondary and primary schools to a certain extent. Physical education is an important part of the basic education. In order to make its full use in quality education, it is crucial for the PE teachers in the secondary and primary schools to get further education, to replenish, renew, expend and improve their knowledge and skills, to optimize their knowledge structure, and to cultivate the creative way of thinking and ability.At present, there are some drawbacks in professional ideas, work qualifications, education level, specialty skills and the scientific research level of the PE teachers of Ningde secondary and primary schools. To meet the need of new century teaching reform, it is quite necessary to develop the continuing education and enhance the integrate quality of the PE teachers of the secondary and primary schools.Aiming at helping to enhance the integrate quality of the PE teachers of secondary and primary schools, on the basis of a series documentary such as the Regulations of The Continuing Education of the Secondary and Primary School Teachers and the 2003-2007 Education Improve Plan and the actual situation and features of Ningde City, this thesis adopts some research methods such as documentary, questionnaire, interview, statistics, and logical analyses to find out the current situation of the continuing education of the PE teachers in secondary and primary schools in different cities and in Fujian Province as a whole. Also, this paper objectively investigates and researches the overall situation of the continuing education of the PE teachers in Ningde secondary and primary schools in depth. It is hoped to make some useful recommendations of improving the next training work for PE teachers of secondary and primary schools in Ningde City on this basis and by learning from the advanced continuing education theories and the practical experiences both at home and abroad.
