Teachers stress has been well-concerned by scholars at home and abroad. However, the stress of PE teachers under the curriculum reform process is not given sufficient attention. In order to promote smooth implementation of the guiding ideology "Health First", we must pay attention to the stress of physical education teachers. This paper is based on the focus of P. E. curriculum reform, exploring the reasons of stress. This paper tries to combine the methods of questionnaire and case studies to study the stress problem of middle school PE teachers in the curriculum reform process. The paper consists of six components:The first part deals with the background of the research macroscopically and represents theoretical and practical aspects of its significance.The second part reviews the previous research on stress of PE teachers, including stress, teachers' stress and teachers' stress in the reform as well as PE teachers' stress.The third part represents the thoughts of this research, including its innovation, purpose and assumptions. On this basis the paper discusses the research methods.Part 4 deals with a detailed analysis and discussion through a questionnaire method on the stress of PE teachers under the curriculum reform background. Survey results show that: in the curriculum reform, middle school PE teachers feel great stress intensity, and the stresses of them show differences in age, seniority, title and the location of their schools. The stress of middle school PE teachers in the curriculum reform can be attributed to three main aspects: personal ability of PE teachers in the reform, the support environment of curriculum reform and objective demands of curriculum reform.Part 5 deals with a case study on three middle school PE teachers. This case study shows the same results with questionnaire survey. Furthermore, through case studies, the writer knows more about how these three teachers confront their stress.The sixth part shows the stress of middle school PE teachers under the curriculum reform background. At last, the writer tries to represent two corresponding countermeasures including schools and the education department and physical education teachers themselves.
