Along with the development of society and economy, knowledge and information is gradually replacing asset capital and becoming a leading, innovating force to drive the growth of the world economy. So, under such circumstance, enterprises need to continuously update their own skills to gain competitive advantages. Therefore, more and more enterprises see systematic competences building of their employees as a kind of strategic option. At the same time the traditional Education and training, which can't catch up with the fast-changing market demand, fail to satisfy such training requirement of enterprises. So, more and more disappointed enterprises start to operate their own universities for employee's training. And the fast growing of corporate universities is becoming a distinguished phenomenon in the field of vocational training in the 21" century. However, as the ultimate form of institutionalized education, corporate universities also bring many negative effects to organizational learning. Through literature study, many interviews and some training practice, my thesis is intended to probe deeply and systematically into this issue in the light of education, economic and managerial knowledge.The article's framework and corresponding contents are as follows:Chapter1: An introduction. After a brief summarization of previous research of corporate universities, this chapter explains the meaning, the framework, and the originality of this paper.Chapter2: this chapter firstly depicts the background under which corporate universities emerged and general development situation of foreign corporate universities, with emphasize on the development of American corporate universities. For another thing, it points out here the functions and future trend of corporate universities. Furthermore, it analyses the characteristics, course schema, theoretic models etc. of foreign enterprise universities in detail.Chapter3: This section points out two kinds of problems of corporate universities. The former kind of problem is operational question in the process of building an effective corporate university. The later kind is where the essential problem of corporate universities roots in.Chapter4: This chapter focuses on the negative effect which corporate universities bring to learning organization especially informal ones such as communities of practice and QCC.
