[OBJECT] the thesis researches the influence of Yoga on female & fat female undergraduates' physical shape, physical enginery, physical fitness and lifestyles. It tries to prove that Yoga is benefit to female undergraduates' mental health. Especially, it tries to find an effective exercise method for fat female undergraduates of improving their physical and mental health.[METHODS] (1) Experimental didactics: The research objects of the thesis are 180 students, who at the age of 18~21, from Donghua University. These students are divided into two groups, an experimental group (90 students in a Yoga club, including fat female undergraduates) and a contrastive group (another 90 students, including fat female undergraduates). Students in the experimental group have one 90-minute Yoga class and two 60-minute Yoga exercises per week. The exercise intensity is controlled by heart rate and heart rate is controlled between 120 tol50 beats per minute when exercise. Students in the contrastive group have the same duration and intensity of exercise, but not Yoga. The experiment lasted for 16 weeks. Before and after the experiment, sebum thickness detector and tapeline are used to measure, and the measurement data are analyzed by using SPSS11.0 software. (2) Questionnaire survey: Before and after the experiment, basic statistics, PSPP, EFI Questionnaire are used to survey and analyze.[RESULTS] (1) Before and after the experiment, physical shape, physical enginery, physical fitness and lifestyles of these students in the experimental group have significant difference. After the experiment, the experimental group students improve their physical shape, enginery, fitness and lifestyles. (2) Students in the contrastive group have no significant difference, except for the step tests and standing long jump. (3) Except for the step tests, the standing long jump and lean body mass, the physical shape, physical enginery and physical fitness of students in the experimental group are significant difference from those of students in the contrastive group. (4) After the experiment, except for 7~8 hours sleep a day, lifestyles of students in the experimental group and contrastive group are significant difference. (5) Before and after the experiment, except for physical exhaustion, mental effects of students in the experimental group have significant difference. (6) Before and after the experiment, except for positive engagement, tranquility and other items of students in the contrastive group have no significant difference. (7) After the experiment, the physical self-perception is significantly different between students in the experimental group and the contrastive group. (8) Before and after the experiment, physical self-perception of students in the experimental group has significant difference.[CONCLUSIONS] 16 weeks Yoga exercise could: (1) enlarge vital capacity, improve the grades of sit-up, proneness in sitting position, torso twist, leg lift and homeostasis, improve physical enginery and physical fitness. (2) decrease weight, body fat mass and percent body fat, decrease the girths of all body part and improve physical shape. (3) relieve the symptoms of insomnia, constipation, shoulder ache, neck ache, waist ache and back ache, and promote to form healthy life style. (4) achieve better psychological effect of exercise, and improve female & fat female undergraduates' mental health.
