Generally speaking, secondary education is divided into academic and vocational education. We had to admit that there is a difference in quality between the students of the academic and the vocational education, partly owing to the expansion of the enrollment of the higher education as well as the rising requirement from the society to all sorts of person. What is more, the prejudice of the public opinion leads the vocational education to a rather difficult situation. What should we do then? Every single step will be a great progress toward our dream—to promote the moral, intellectual, aesthetic and physical development of the students.In such situation, as most of the other schools, the secondary vocational schools devote themselves to strengthening the moral education to the studens in order to remove the disadvantages, promote the qualities of the studems. The focus is placed on how to carry out the moral activities properly. The effect of moral education directly influences the thought, the behavior and the self_development of the teenagers.However,the status in quo of the moral activities is dissatisfying in the secondary vocational schools. Some factors, such as the unpractical goals, dull and outdated contents, single methods, simplified and formalizing processes, greatly suppress the educational efiects.The investigation of moral education in vocational schools helps the moral educators to improve their organization and performance of the moral educative activities, and to obtain more and more actual effects. But most of the current investigations on the activities of moral education, home and abroad, rest in theory. Furthermore, the demonstrative investigations on the activities of moral education are infrequent in secondary vocational schools.The thesis is based on the investigation in two kinds of typical secondary vocational schools: one is the vocational high schools whose students come from Guangzhou City, that is, Guangzhou Vocational School Of Tourism and Business and Guangzhou Electron and Information Vocational School; the other is the technical secondary schools whose students come from Guangdong Province, that is, the Guangdong Chemical Technical School and the Guangdong Building Material School. With the questionnaire, interview and observation, particular and in_depth research is done on the moral education in the above four schools. The situation and the characters of the moral education are concluded according to the experience of more than 500 teachers, students parents and other people of social classes. The main factors influencing the effects of moral education have been summed up. The thesis probes into some measures to obtain actual effects in moral education of vocational secondary schools.
